Today it's Saint Patrick's Day in US, it's an Irish holiday and you supposed to wear green and get drunk. Can you imagine the power of the desire wearing a green hat and consuming alcohol?
The tradition of Saint Patrick;s Day is you have to wear something green or else you will get pinch. Green nail polish, green socks, green t-shirt, anything you can wear in green color. Of course that include green hat, I wonder if it's possible to buy a 綠帽 in Hong Kong, China or Taiwan? Well it's very easy to buy a green hat here in US.
It'll be fun to turn the Saint Patrick's Day into a 綠帽日 for Chinese. You are correct, it's an Irish Holiday and American just used it as another holiday to party a big time. People were waiting in line 7 am in all the Irish pubs around town. It's just very interesting you have to wear green, and green in Chinese represent 綠. It's very lovely too see so much green on people's head all at one time.
